Laura Ben Hayoun creates/recreates events. With her camera, she provokes situations revealing identitary, political or geopolitical stakes.  


Laura Ben Hayoun est née à Valence (France). Elle vit et travaille à Paris, Yerevan et Alger.
Sa photographie est un espace de tension et de jeu, explorant l’entre-deux et la frontière à travers des histoires intimes envisagées comme des échos de l’Histoire. Elle cherche à rendre visible des récits non conventionnels.
L’image est fragmentée et fragilisée par de multiples expérimentations, se mêle photographie, vidéos, dessins, installation.
Après des études en anthropologie, elle obtient un Master en réalisation documentaire, et un Master de photographie et art contemporain à l'Université Paris 8.
Elle a présenté son travail lors d'expositions collectives et personnelles à Londres, Paris, Nice, La Corogne, Hanovre, Bienne. Elle a été finaliste au Unseen Dummy Award 2019, Plat(t)form 2020 et lors du prix C/O Berlin Talent Award 2020.

Laura Ben Hayoun was born in Valence (France). She lives in Paris and currently works in Paris/Yerevan/ Alger. Her work questions notions of « in between », borders and migration. Personal stories are interpreted as echoes of History. She tries to give visibility to unconventional narratives. The image is questioned in its capacity of movement through multiple experimentations. She is working on mixed medias, photography, video, textiles, drawings, installation.
She studied visual anthropology and continued with a MA in Documentary film, and a MA in Photography and Contemporary art.
She had collective and solo exhibitions in London, Paris, Nice, Hanover, Bienne. She has been awarded in UNSEEN Dummy award 2019, Plat(t)form 2020 and C/O Berlin Talent Award 2020.
